💼 Assistant Accountant (YouthXLS Programme)

Afrizan is recruiting on behalf of a valued client for an Assistant Accountant opportunity through the YouthXLS Programme.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a strong finance background who are looking to build their career within a professional corporate finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Check and approve creditor invoices and payments in line with company policies and delegated authority.
Handle internal and external customer queries and resolve finance-related issues professionally.
Perform reconciliations of General Ledger accounts accurately and timeously.
Liaise with internal departments to resolve reconciliation queries.
Capture and process stock invoices.
Process journal entries to the General Ledger.
Maintain accurate financial records, reports, and supporting documentation.
Provide support to junior team members where required.
Assist with ad hoc finance duties as requested by management.
Minimum Requirements
✅ NQF 7 qualification or higher in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, or a related field.
✅ Minimum of 1-3 years' finance or financial administration experience.
✅ Experience with creditors, General Ledger reconciliations, and journal processing.
✅ Strong understanding of financial administration processes.
✅ Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
✅ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
✅ Good communication and interpersonal skills.
✅ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
✅ Must be based in or willing to work in Johannesburg.
✅ Must be immediately available.
