Candidate Attorney

Job Description

A well-established and dynamic law firm in George is seeking a motivated Candidate Attorney to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven LLB graduate to kick-start their legal career with hands-on experience, structured mentorship, and meaningful exposure to courtroom practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal opinions, memoranda, and correspondence
• Assist with the drafting of pleadings, contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
• Liaise professionally with clients, counsel, and external stakeholders
• Attend client consultations and accurately record instructions
• Support the full litigation process, including case preparation, court filings, and trial readiness
• Attend court proceedings (where permitted) alongside senior legal professionals
• Maintain and organise case files and documentation to the highest standard
• Ensure strict compliance with court rules, deadlines, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Completed LLB degree
• Strong academic record
• Proficiency in MS Office and legal research databases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver’s licence (advantageous)
