We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Datacenter Engineer to lead and execute data center infrastructure deployments and field implementations across customer sites. This is a project‑driven, deployment-focused role, requiring strong multi‑vendor experience, ownership of onsite delivery, and close coordination with customers, OEMs, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute end‑to‑end rack deployments, including rack mounting, bolt‑down, structured cabling (fiber and copper), power integration, grounding, and equipment labeling.
- Perform onsite installation, configuration, and commissioning of servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless equipment from OEMs such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Fortinet, HPE, and Dell.
- Own site delivery and acceptance, working directly with customers, OEM engineers, and Sycomp project teams.
- Conduct fiber and copper termination, patching, OTDR testing, and performance validation to ensure network integrity and reliability.
- Validate LAN/WAN connectivity, redundancy, failover, and security configurations against approved designs.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis during installation and post‑deployment support.
- Produce and maintain as‑built documentation, rack elevations, test results, and handover reports.
- Ensure all onsite work adheres to data center operational standards, safety procedures, and ESD best practices.
- Act as a technical lead on site, mentoring and guiding junior engineers and field technicians.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience in data center deployments and field engineering.
- Proven ability to work in multi‑vendor network and compute environments.
- Solid expertise in:
- Structured cabling systems (fiber & copper)
- Rack integration and power layout
- Network hardware installation and validation
- Experience performing OTDR testing and interpreting fiber test results.
- Ability to read and execute engineering designs, rack elevations, and cabling schematics.
- Strong customer‑facing communication and onsite coordination skills.
- Self‑driven, quality‑focused, and comfortable owning end‑to‑end delivery.
