Risingsun is looking for a skilled Data Platform Engineer to join our team and work on modern cloud data platforms.

📍 Sandton, Johannesburg
🏢 Hybrid | 3 Days/Week Onsite
📅 12-Month Contract | Renewable

🔥 MUST-HAVE SKILLS
✅ Microsoft Azure – Entra ID, Key Vault, Networking, Storage
✅ Azure Databricks – Unity Catalog, Workspaces, Cluster & Job Management
✅ Terraform / IaC – Multi-environment experience preferred
✅ Python – Strong proficiency
✅ SQL – Working knowledge
✅ CI/CD – Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar
✅ Data platform governance & cost management
✅ Troubleshooting infrastructure, networking, authentication & connectivity

🔹 WHAT YOU’LL DO
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
Develop Terraform infrastructure across Azure and Azure Databricks.
Build platform automation and tooling using Python / .NET.
Develop shared libraries and modules for data engineers and analysts.
Support governance, provisioning, monitoring, and cost tracking.
Partner with Data, Security, and Infrastructure teams.
Troubleshoot platform, pipeline, and integration issues.
Drive documentation and engineering best practices.
