Old Aged Home
This is an opportunity to practise meaningful medicine where continuity of care matters. Our residents range from independent living to frail care and sub-acute, requiring a doctor who values early intervention, thoughtful clinical decision-making, and compassionate communication.
The Role
- Weekday morning sessions (approximately 2 hours per day, negotiable)
- Ward-style rounds in the frail care unit
- Clinical consultations as identified by the duty Registered Nurse
- Clinical oversight and support for the nursing team
- Management of acute and chronic medical conditions
- Advance care planning discussions with residents and their families
- Optional weekend on-call availability for genuine emergencies (remunerated separately)
Remuneration
- Competitive sessional and on-call rates in line with current industry standards
- Medical aid billing for consultations remains with the practitioner
Requirements
- MBChB with current HPCSA registration
- Own medical indemnity cover
- Experience in geriatric, family, or sub-acute medicine
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care
- A genuine passion for caring for older adults with dignity and respect
